About Marc-André

I have spent most of my life around teams. As a player, a coach, a founder, and a father of three.

I played, and I coached. I loved the game, but what really held me was the team. The people in it, and what happens between them.

Then I co-founded BeyondPulse and ran it. We put more data in front of coaches than they had ever had. And I kept running into the same thing. The data was not enough to move behavior.

My path through Ohio University, the Montréal Canadiens, and BeyondPulse put me in the chair where decisions land. Purpose, pressure, identity, and what leaders carry while they support everyone else.

That led me to executive coaching, and to training and certifying with CTI, the Co-Active Training Institute. I kept waiting for the flaw. It never came.

So I carried it back to sport. That world and this one almost never talk to each other. That’s the gap I’m standing in.

Today I coach college coaches, sport leaders, and executives through Acumen Collective. The Coaching Gap is the book that came out of that work.
